How to Set Up Mail for Mac OS X (10.6)
to Send and Receive Email
Step 1:
Open Mail.
Go to MAIL --> PREFERENCES
Click the ( + ) Add sign.
Step 2:
In the Full Name field, type your name.
In the Email Address field, type your Island Email address (e.g., yourname@islandemail.com).
Type in your password
Click the Continue button.
Step 3
In the Account Type Drop Down field, choose either POP or IMAP.
In the Description field, type your Island Email address (e.g., yourname@islandemail.com).
In the Incoming mail server field, enter pop.islandemail.com ( If A POP Account). imap.islandemail.com ( If An IMAP Account).
In the User Name field, type your Island Email address (e.g., yourname@islandemail.com).
In the Password field, type your Island Email password.
Click the Continue button.
Note: At this point, Mail will attempt to contact the mail server. If it fails, click the Continue button on the warning message that appears to continue with the set up.
Step 4:
For Description (Optional) Type a description for this mail box.
For Outgoing Mail Server type mail.islandemail.com
Check Use Only This Server.
Check Use Authentication.
Enter Your User Name.
Enter Your Password.
Step 5:
Check the USE Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) Check Box.
From the Authentication Drop Down Make sure that Password is checked.
Step 6:
Review Your Account Summary.
If all of the information is correct, click the Create button.
