How to Set Up Microsoft Outlook 2007
to Send and Receive Email
Step 1:
Open Microsoft Outlook2007.
Step 2:
Click the Tools menu, and select Account Settings.
Step 3:
Click on the Email tab and click on the New... button.
Step 4:
Next select Microsoft Exchange, POP3, IMAP or HTTP and click Next.
Step 5:
On the Auto Account Setup window and check the Manually configure server settings or additional server types and click Next.
Step 6:
Select the Internet E-mail option and click Next.
Step 7:
Fill in the following fields.
Enter Your Name as you want it to appear.
Enter your full email address yourname@islandemail.com in the Email address: field.
Select POP3 or IMAP.
Enter pop.islandemail.com (if POP Account) or imap.islandemail.com (if IMAP Account) in the Incoming mail (POP3, IMAP) server: field.
Enter mail.islandemail.com in the Outgoing mail (SMTP) server: field.
Enter your username yourname@islandemail.com in the Account name: field.
Enter your email password in the Password field.
Step 8:
Perform the following steps:
Click on More Settings...
Click on the Outgoing Server tab.
Check My outgoing server (SMTP) Requires Authentication.
Make sure to Use same setting as my incoming mail server is also checked.
Click on OK.
Step 9:
Click the Advanced tab and change the Outgoing Server (SMTP) port to 587.
Click on the pull down next to Use the following type of encrypted connections: and select TSL.
Step 10:
Click the Test Account Settings button and you should see all items with green check marks...
Click the Close Button to close the test window.
Click Next to save your settings.
Step 11:
Congratulations. You have finished the setup of your email account. Click Finish to close the setup wizard.
