Step 1:

• Open Outlook Express.
  

Step 2:

• From the Tools menu, choose Accounts.

  Note: If you have never configured, or used, your Outlook Express email program, at this point the Internet Connection Wizard will open automatically. In such a situation, go directly to step 5.

Step 3:

• Click the Add button and choose Mail.

Step 4:

1. In the Display name field, type your full name.
   
   
2. Click the Next button.

Step 5:

1. In the E-mail address field, type your Island Email address (e.g., yourname@islandemail.com).
   
   
2. Click the Next button.

Step 6:

1. Click the down arrow on the My incoming mail is a ____ server drop-down list and choose POP3.
   
   
2. In the Incoming mail (POP3, IMAP or HTTP) server field enter
   pop.islandemail.com
   
   
3. In the Outgoing mail (SMTP) server field, enter
   mail.islandemail.com
   
   
4. Click the Next button.

Step 7:

1. In the Account name field, type your Island Email address
   (e.g., yourname@islandemail.com).
   
   
2. In the Password field, type your email password.
   
   
3. Check the box next to Remember password if you wish to save your password.
   (recommended)
   
   
4. Click the Next button.

Step 8:

• Click the Finish button.

   

NOTE: Steps 9 - 13 below are for outgoing (SMTP)
servers that "Require Authentication" only.

An example ISP that requires authentication is Earthlink.

Step 9:

• Double-click your account in the Mail Accounts list.

   

Step 10:

• Click on the Servers tab.

Step 11:

1. Check the box next to My server requires authentication.
   
   
2. Click the Settings button.

Step 12:

1. Select Log on using.
2. In the Account Name field, type your Username associated with your ISP.
   (In most cases, this is your ISP-provided email address)
   
   
3. In the Password field, type your password.
   
   
4. Check the box next to Remember password.
   
   
5. Click the OK button.

Step 13:

• Click the OK button.

You are now ready to send and receive emails!
